Lakers track and field teams sweep

Indian Lake’s girls and boys track and field teams earned wins Thursday as they won a tri-meet against Benjamin Logan and Covington.

The Laker girls dominated with 106 points, while Covington took second with 53 points and Ben Logan was third with 14 points.

Indian Lake’s boys battled past Covington to claim the top spot with 91 points. The Buccs were second with 81 points and the Raiders were third with five.

Brianna Lump led the Laker girls with two first-place finishes. She won the 100 hurdles (no time available) and the 300 hurdles (54.0).

Also taking first for Indian Lake’s girls were Lynsey Shepard in the discus (99-9), Katie Harvey in the shot put (31-01/2 ), Sadie Oyer in the high jump (5-0), Cori Blackburn in the pole vault (7-6), Rachel Watt in the 1600 (5:43) and Casey Craft in the 800 (2:36).

Three Laker relays also finished in first, including the 800 relay of Blackburn, Katey Headley, Lindsey Ray and Craft (2:00.6), the 400 relay of Laura Blust, Kelsey Galyk, Headley and Katelyn Stannard (54.4) and the 1600 relay of Galyk, Headley, Taylor Norviel and Stannard (4:24).

Stacy Jones led the Indian Lake boys team by winning the high jump (5-10) and the 800 (no time available).

Also finishing first for the boys were Thomas Taylor in the discus (141-4), Russell Krouse in the shot put (44-1), Dylon Sullivan in the 400 (57.1), Isaac Reichert in the 200 (24.1), Jeff Wildermuth in the pole vault (11-0) and the 400 relay of D.J. Foy, Kyle Hefner, Lance McPherson and Mikael Neeley (47.3).
