Indian Lake honors its winter athletes

Indian Lake’s winter athletes were recognized during a recent awards presentation.
In boys basketball, Jared Troyer received a third-year varsity award and earned the performance rating award, Keith Money picked up a third-year varsity award and the varsity coach’s award, Isaac Reichert earned his third-year varsity award and was the top defensive player, Stacy Jones was named most improved and Andy Fout received the varsity booster award.

Also for boys basketball, Russ Hogue earned the junior varsity coach’s award, Stanley Beatty was given the freshman coach’s award, Justin Castle received the junior varsity booster award and Ross Jenkins took the freshman booster award.
Ashley Oakley was the individual game goal leader, field goal percentage leader, had the most rebounds and received a third-year varsity award for girls basketball. Cory Blackburn had the most assists and most steals, Sadie Oyer was the free throw percentage leader, Laura Blust earned the varsity booster award and Christina Knief earned the junior varsity booster award.

In varsity cheerleading, Lauren Brademeyer was named most spirited, Ashley Fleming had the best attitude and Sara Tevis received the booster award. Heather Buchenroth and Kim Stevens received third-year varsity awards. Sammie Green earned the JV most spirited award, Sarah Bell was given the JV best attitude award and Megan Kelly received the JV booster award. Caitlin Jordan received the freshman booster award.

Thomas Taylor was named most valuable in wrestling. Arron Witt was most improved and Taylor, Dane Cope, Nate Harmon, Matt Marshall and Cody Ray received four-year varsity awards. Adam Witt received a third-year varsity award, Ray received the varsity booster award and Dylan Stites received the JV booster award.

In boys bowling, Cody Snyder was most valuable and received a four-year varsity award, Jeff Wildermuth was named most improved varsity player, Don Stedry was most improved JV player, Lance Clark earned the baker award, Matt Schultz was honored as a district qualifier, Heath Kindle received the varsity booster award and Brendon Knight earned the JV booster award.

Amanda Hill was named most improved varsity player, earned a fourth-year varsity award and was honored as a district qualifier for girls bowling. Mara Hemmer was the JV most improved player, Kaylee Clark had the high average for the varsity, Sarah Eagy had the high average for the JV, Veronica Hoover received a fourth-year varsity award, Alyssa Huffman received the varsity booster award and Eagy earned the JV booster award.
