Indian Lake comes through in crunch time

Indian Lake’s boys basketball team held on for a 50- 48 win over visiting Urbana o Friday in boys Central Buckeye Conference basketball action.

The Lakers improve to 11-6 overall and are 8-6 in the CBC, while the Hillclimbers fall to 7-10, 5-9.

Indian Lake completed a season sweep of Urbana after beating them 61-54 in their first meeting in late December.

The Lakers held an 8-4 lead after the first quarter and went on to lead 16-11 at halftime.

Urbana’s offense came out firing in the third stanza and outscored Indian Lake 20-15. That resulted in a 31- 31 deadlock.

The Lakers were one basket better (19-17) in the fourth period to pull out the win.

Jared Troyer led the Lakers’ offense with 15 points, while Stacy Jones tallied 12 points and Isaac Reichert added 11 points.

Urbana was led by Nathan Zerkle with 13 points.

Indian Lake travels to Waynesfield-Goshen on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup.
