Indian Lake school board handles personnel matters The Indian Lake Schools Board of Education handled several resignations, and extended certified and supplemental contracts at its regular rescheduled meeting Monday afternoon. Beth Overs, president of the Indian Lake Athletic Boosters, presented a $16,000 donation to the board from the organization. Members accepted the resignations of Kim Berry, high school food service; Ginger Hardin, elementary food service; and Katie Parrish, middle school intervention. Ms. Berry and Ms. Hardin worked in the district for two years and one year, respectively, while Ms. Parrish had not yet begun teaching duties at Indian Lake. A one-year limited contract was extended to Britnie Allen, middle school intervention specialist. Supplemental contracts were extended to Troy Shively, Key Club adviser; Mike Pusey, head girls golf; Jennifer Ramsey, freshman basketball cheerleading; Jennifer Chambers, drama club adviser; and Cale Jacobs, assistant baseball. The following salary schedule adjustments were also approved: Daniel Thorton, bachelors plus 150; Krystal Loy, bachelors plus 165; Doug Niekamp, masters; Molly Hall, masters plus 15; and Christi Warnecke and Amy Fatone, masters plus 45. In other action, the board: approved student fees as follows: kindergarten, $10; grades 1-4, $20; grades 5-8, $40; and high school, $2 general fee, plus course-specific fees; approved the classified substitute list and the 2009 bus routes as presented; and approved Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company with the Purmont Brother Insurance Agency as the volunteer student insurance provider. The next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21. |
