1 dead, 2 injured in Auglaize County crash AUGLAIZE COUNTY The Ohio State Patrol Wapakoneta Post is investigating a one vehicle fatal crash that happened early Sunday morning, according to WHIO, Dayton. The crash happened on Middle Pike, four miles west of Bachman Road, near Wapakoneta in Auglaize County. According to a release, a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck with three passengers was traveling westbound on Middle Pike when it went off the right side of the road for an unknown reason striking a concrete culvert. The vehicle then went airborne and overturned coming to a rest on its side, the release stated. Nicholas Hardin Jr., 24, of Waynesfield, was driving the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Auglaize County Coroner. Gregory Hicks, 24, of New Hampshire, Ohio, was taken by Life Flight to St. Ritas Hospital in Lima. Craig Long, 24, of Waynesfield, was transported to St. Ritas Hospital by Wapakoneta rescue squad. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt. |
