Russells Point officials lauded the efforts of all involved in making the recent Rally at the Peak’s Party at the Lake and Art on the Harbor events a success during Monday’s regular council meeting.

Mayor Greg Iiams reported that “the motorcycle event was held without any incidents and the Art at the Harbor came off without any major problems thanks to the effort of the committee, police department and the other village employees and officials.”

Other items of discussion included the public notice of intent to build in the 100-year floodplain; permits with additional requirements of the Ohio Department of Transportation for the pedestrian crosswalk on U.S. Route 33; letter of indemnification and it’s requirements by an insurance carrier; and delinquent taxes for the village.

Council also passed a resolution to send to the Logan County Auditor for placement on tax duplicates for weeds and litter.

The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, a change from Sept. 7 because of Labor Day.
