Russells Point plans road closures for weekend rally

To accommodate Art on the Harbor and Rally at the Peak visitors and events, Russells Point officials will close a portion of Main Street-State Route 366 and some intersections between Orchard Island Road-State Route 708 and Sunnyside Avenue from Friday evening through Sunday evening as follows.

• Warren and Chase avenues will be closed at Main Street, with barricades at the south entrances to The Landing restaurant and Dollar General. Both will be accessible from adjacent streets.

• Clermont Avenue will be open for north- and southbound traffic, but without direct access to Main Street. Southbound traffic will be permitted to turn right (west) only onto U.S. 33.

• The Donut Shop and BBQ chicken dinner pit will remain open to light traffic only at the east entrance.

• BJ’s Drive Thru will be open to patrons, but will prohibit right turns onto Main Street.

• Huntington Bank and the ATM will be accessible with right (west) turns only onto Main Street.

For commercial and non-local traffic, eastbound S.R. 366 traffic will be diverted from State Route 235 at Lakeview onto U.S. 33. Westbound S.R. 366 traffic will be diverted at State Route 117 to State Route 274, then west on U.S. 33.

All routes and roadways will reopen Sunday evening.
