Argument leads to arrest

Roger Spires, 37, of 11007 Walnut St., Lakeview, was arrested around 11 a.m. Sunday for domestic violence.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence of Susan R. Shuman, 33, of 11392 Kickapoo Path, Lakeview, around 3 a.m. the same day after she reported Mr. Spires allegedly kicked and punched her during an argument. He also allegedly punched their son, Caleb Spires, 15, several times in the head before throwing the television on the floor.

Mr. Spires left the residence before deputies arrived and later turned himself in at the sheriff’s office where he denied striking Ms. Shuman or Caleb.

• Ashley Anne Ramge, 23, of Kenton, was arrested on two counts of assault around 9:30 a.m. Saturday after deputies observed her strike Michael Duane Hurley, 32, of Waynesfield, in the face at Froggy’s, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview, around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 2. A deputy was also struck in the eye during the incident.

While deputies attempted to break up an argument that continued, she left the scene. Ms. Ramge later called the sheriff’s office after learning she was a suspect and turned herself in.

Summons issued over alleged marijuana use

Paul W. Tuttle, 67, of 14137 Rosewood Ave., Lakeview, was issued a summons for possession of drugs around 9 p.m. Thursday after deputies stopped at the residence and smelled burning marijuana. Mr. Tuttle denied having any marijuana, and reports indicate he was issued the summons because he was present in his house while marijuana was also present and burned. Three other men were also present.

Theft reported

Jennifer Lea Snyder, 44, of 11512 Parker Dr., Belle Center, reported that her purse was stolen while at Mustang’s Bar, 105 E. Lake St., Lakeview, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. She named two possible suspects and deputies were waiting to review security tapes at the time of the report.

Several vehicles have tires punctured

David F. Barhorst, 60, of 285 Stephenson St., Lakeview, reported Thursday that four tires on his minivan had been punctured overnight.

• Cedric Barhorst, 32, of 11272 Williams St., Lakeview, reported Thursday that the two rear tires on his pickup truck had been punctured overnight.

• Beatie Waddle, 68, of 10594 Williams St., Lakeview, reported Thursday that two tires on her sport utility vehicle had been punctured overnight.

Man injured in crash, later arrested

Michael Helton, 23, of Lakeview, sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, according to troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

He was westbound on Harrison Street in Lakeview when he lost control of his pickup truck near Main Street and traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a utility pole. He was not wearing a seat belt, and damage to the vehicle was disabling.

Mr. Helton was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he was treated and released. Alcohol was suspected in the crash, but he refused to submit to tests.

He was then stopped around 7 a.m. walking eastbound on U.S. Route 33 where he did submit to a breath test and was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
