Russells Point seeks public comment on treatment plant upgrade

The village of Russells Point is in the process of conducting an environmental review of the village’s water treatment plant upgrade project to fulfill orders by the Ohio EPA to correct deficiencies with the disinfection byproducts rule of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The new building, to be constructed between the current structures, will install additional treatment technology and be approximately 50 feet by 35 feet. The land that will be disturbed is already committed to urban development, but occurs in a floodplain.

Any person, agency or group wishing to comment on the proposed project may submit written comments to the village by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.
