Unruly teen arrested Jacob C. DeWitt, 15, of 305 N. Oak St., Lakeview, was arrested for disorderly conduct around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies of the Logan County Sheriffs Office responded to the residence after his grandmother and legal guardian Janet Spoon, 56, of the same address, called to report he had become confrontational and verbally abusive. He was lodged in the Juvenile Detention Center. Theodore J. Lietzke, 19, of 3548 Township Road 108, Huntsville, was issued a summons for domestic violence around 3:20 p.m. Thursday after he allegedly threw a knife sharpener at his brother, Nathan Lietzke, 16, of the same address. Reports indicate Theodore also struck Nathan in the legs with a table. Farmer follows vehicle driving through fields Jay Winner, 13318 County Road 52, Lewistown, reported around 1:30 a.m. Thursday that he observed a suspicious dark blue sport utility vehicle parked behind his silage pile. The suspect quickly left through a field after being noticed. Mr. Winner attempted to follow in his own vehicle on roads near the field, but lost track of the suspect in higher crops. Deputies found the SUV exited the field and went south on Township Road 53. Thefts reported Phillip Adams, 65, of 12901 N. State Route 235, Lot 73, Lakeview, reported Wednesday that he has been receiving telephone calls from bill collectors about accounts he was unaware of. He later discovered that five accounts with balances over $8,000 collectively had been opened in his name without his knowledge between April and August of 2008. He is unaware of how or when his information was stolen. Christy L. Pilkington, 34, of 14642 County Road 87, Lakeview, reported Wednesday that her sons bicycle valued at $50 was stolen overnight. William S. Westfall, 59, of Hamilton, reported Saturday that his boat trailer was stolen within the last week from Lakeside RV Park, 11348 N. State Route 235, Lakeview. Man violates CPO Phillip G. Huffman, 42, of Urbana, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for violating a civil protection order. Deputies responded to the residence of Stephanie Dawn McClain, 27, of 13761 Eagle Path, Lakeview, after a third party reported a domestic dispute at the location. Upon their arrival, they met with Ms. McClain who confirmed she had a CPO against Mr. Huffman, but that he was living there with her permission and that she is in the process of having it dropped. He was transported without incident to the Logan County Jail and likely will be charged with a felony because of a prior conviction of the same charge, according to deputies. Counterfeit money used to buy wood Shirley E. Bailey, 21, of 11851 N. State Route 235, Lakeview, reported Tuesday that two individuals paid her father, Curtis Bailey, 81, of the same address, with counterfeit money around 9 p.m. Saturday for wood he chops and sells. A woman described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall in her early to mid 20s with light brown hair bought three bundles of wood for $9 with a $50 bill. A man with her, described as approximately 6 feet tall with dark hair in his early to mid 20s, then bought three more bundles with a separate $50 bill. Mr. Bailey was informed by the bank that the bills were fake after he attempted to deposit one. Loose dogs lead to summons Steven W. Smalley, 43, of Lakeview, was issued a summons for failure to confine dogs around 11 a.m. Sunday after several citizens approached a deputy on patrol to complain about dogs running loose and chasing them. The deputy made contact with Mr. Smalley at 11048 Big Bear Path, Lakeview, where he stated he is watching his sisters house for her and that the dogs escaped through a damaged window screen. The acting dog warden was called and stated he has had multiple complaints about the dogs and has posted a written warning previously. |
