Russells Point names council replacement Michelle Johnston will be sworn in at the March 17 meeting of the Russells Point Village Council to fill the remaining two years on the term of councilman Rick Pitts who resigned in January. Ms. Johnston was one of five residents to express interest in the vacant seat during Monday’s regular council meeting. Others included Mary Ann Reese, Robert Reames, Andrea Fernandez and Bill Odronic. In other matters, council passed the final reading of a resolution establishing the frequency and type of financial information to be provided at council meetings as requested by the auditor of state. Council also approved DP&L to place three lighting fixtures in the municipal building parking area, and along Oak Crest and White Oak streets. Joel Kranenburg was moved from auxiliary to a part-time police officer, bringing the department staff to a chief, one full-time officer and two part-time positions. The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, March 17. |
