Moose women extend kindness to children With children being one of the primary focuses for the familybased Indian Lake Moose Lodge, the Women of the Moose made a presentation Sunday of items they hope can provide comfort to children involved in emergency situations. Lodge officials presented four dozen Tommy Moose stuffed characters to Lt. Andy Smith of the Logan County Sheriffs Office. Lt. Smith said the stuffed animals would be very helpful to officers dealing with children in stressful situations and they would give the officers a way to offer a little kindness. The stuffed animals will be placed in county cruisers as well as township and village police cars and distributed as needed. Family Court Judge Michael Brady, also on hand at the ceremony, likened the moose to local law enforcement in their dedication to helping children and confirmed the success of a similar program implemented by the courts in adoption cases. It really helps (the children), gives them something to hang on to. |
