Lakeview considers new development plan

Traci Snyder was appointed to fill the council seat of the late Larry Shafer at the Lakeview Village Council meeting Monday, where officials also learned of a new development proposed by a Westerville construction firm.

Mayor Ryan Shoffstall shared a letter from The Woda Group LLC regarding the firm’s tentative plans to build a 24-unit single-story apartment complex and community building for the elderly along State Route 720.

No land has been purchased as of yet, but property across from Schaefer Machining is being considered, according to Lakeview officials. Woda officials have more information forthcoming.

In other matters, Gatchell Grant Resources Inc. of Canton was approved to help the village with obtaining grants for a fire truck and other projects, at a cost of $600 plus value percentages for each grant.

The next meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 3.
