Man charged with felonious assault A Lakeview man who allegedly pushed a teenage girl to the ground and hit her brother with a baseball bat was jailed on one count each of assault and felonious assault after a noon Friday incident, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report. Michael J. Lazo, 34, of 10607 State St., allegedly stopped his vehicle and confronted Sierra K. Kirk, 16, of Lakeview, who was walking near the corner of Williams Drive and State Street. Sierra’s brother, Geno Mangan, 20, later went to Mr. Lazo’s home where the defendant allegedly swung a baseball bat at Mr. Mangan, striking his hand. Other charges filed Betty J. Fortner, 53, of 6875 Sunfish Drive, Huntsville, was arrested on felony drug abuse and public intoxication charges at about 3 p.m. Friday after deputies responded to a report of an intoxicated woman at Heartland of Indian Lake, 14480 State Route 366, Lakeview. • Brandon R. Williams, 22, of 8854 Prince Road, Lakeview, was issued a summons for trespassing after Joseph M. Minnich reported a vehicle parked on his 12375 Township Road 293, Lakeview, property at about 2:40 a.m. Sunday. Vehicles taken Randall L. Weinert, 37, of DeGraff, reported at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday that his 1993 black Honda Accord, license number DMY6296, was stolen while parked at The Pines, 2515 County Road 255, Quincy. • Meghan S. Hunt, 26, of Russells Point, reported Saturday morning a named suspect took her car and a debit card without her permission overnight. |
