Dayton man charged for break-in

A Dayton man was arrested Saturday for an attempted smash and grab at Low Bob’s, 116 Sunnyside Drive, Russells Point.

Daniel J. Everette, 32, was apprehended by deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office at a pay phone at the Indian Lake Fueling Plaza, 209 State Route 708, Russells Point. He was charged with breaking and entering and vandalism.

Officers of the Russells Point Police Department responded to an alarm around 11:30 p.m. and found a drive-up window smashed out. A witness provided a description of the suspect. T

hat description and a telephone tip to the Washington Township Police Department led to the suspect’s apprehension.

Bellefontaine Police detectives are trying to see if the suspect is linked to a damaged front glass door at Community Markets, 309 N. Main St., which was found around 11:10 p.m. Saturday by an officer on patrol.

Champaign County authorities also want to interview the suspect regarding a smash and grab in which $1,500 was stolen.
