Bernard Lee Vance Sr

Bernard Lee Vance Sr., 82, of Lincoln, Neb., died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. He was born March 6, 1932, in Logan County.

A graduate of Huntsville High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1961 and the Army National Guard from 1974 to1985.

Survivors include his children, Chris Lee (Lydia) Vance of Farmington, N.M., Bernard “Sosue” (Judy) Vance Jr., and Dan (Chayo) Florez, Elizabeth “Betty” Vance, Florine (Andy) Calim and Mildred (Vernon) Byron, all of Lincoln, Neb.; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David (Doris) Herring and Thomas (Janice) Herring, both of Lakeview; and a sister, Dora “Dottie” Loggains of Lakeview.

He will be welcomed into heaven by his loving wife, Mary Lorraine LaFlesche Vance and the many more who have gone on before him.

Funeral services were Tuesday in Lincoln. Memorials may be directed to the family. Please visit www.lincolnfh.com to share memories.
