Sylvia J. Crabtree, 72, of Quincy, passed away at 9:32 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Welch, W.Va., on July 15, 1945, to the late William Eli and Rebecca Jane Shepard Lester.
On June 24, 1977, Sylvia married David Max Crabtree in Sidney and he preceded her in death Nov. 14, 2015. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Wayde Poe; a sister, Glenna Shirley; and two brothers, Okey Charles and Ozzie Lester.
Sylvia is survived by five children, Wes (Jennie) McFarlin, Michael (Sarah) McFarlin, Chrysta (Tony Poe) Crabtree, Troy Crabtree and Robin Stewart; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Brenda (Bill) Robinson; a brother, Otis (Shannon) Lester; and several nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Sylvia was a member of Solid Rock Church in Sidney. She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching wrestling, being outdoors around a campfire, and most especially, spending time with her family.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, prior to funeral services that begin at 1 p.m. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery in Quincy.
