David C. Gillenwater, 68, of Lakeview, passed away Saturday morning, March 3, 2018, at Indian Lake Rehabilitation Center.
David was born May 11, 1949, in Bellefontaine, a son of the late Moriel Clayton and Miriam Manahan Gillenwater. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Wilcox, and a brother-in-law, Sidney Gamble.
David is survived by five siblings, Judy Gamble of Mesa, Ariz., Nancy (Jerry) Gerber of Columbus, Buddy (Edie) Gillenwater and Leanna Pollard, both of West Union, and Gary Gillenwater of Lakeview; a sister-in-law, Joyce Wilcox of Brooksville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
David was a 1968 graduate of Indian Lake High School. He was a United States Air Force veteran, who served during Vietnam. David was a retired machinist and a member of Doyle R. Miller AMVETS Post 39 in Lakeview. When he was able, David helped at the Chippewa Neighborhood Outreach Center. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Rev. Ron Irick conducts graveside services at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff, with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
