Regi E. Cox, 65, of Marysville, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 11, at his home surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.
A guy with a great sense of humor and strong-willed boldness, he persevered through life’s many adversities with a positive “cowboy up” attitude. He was retired from Honda of America after 25 years of service with perfect attendance.
In earlier years, he held memberships in the Ohio and American Paint Horse Associations and later was a part of the AWRA Water Race Association. He enjoyed the many friendships he developed in the dog racing world and those people he and Sandy met while camping. His greatest joys, however, came from attending and supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities.
Regi was born Sept. 19, 1952 in Kenton to the late Paul and Phyllis Stokes Cox. He married the former Sandra L. Knisley Oct. 23, 1970, in London. She died Oct. 10, 2012, just days short of their 42nd wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his daughters, Nici L. (R.J.) Crosby and Angie L. (Wylie Seely) Cox, both of Marysville; six grandchildren, Jakob, Jordon (Miranda), Jarrett “Regi”, Reagan, Blake and Kaelyn; a sister, Roxie Snyder of Findlay; a niece, Staci (Brian) Flynn of Euclid; aunts, uncles, cousins; and his many dear and devoted friends with the Water Race Association.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Marysville American Legion, 500 Park Ave., Marysville .
Memorial contributions may be made to the Loving Care Hospice and the Union County Cancer Society in care of Ingram Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
