James “Jim” Michael Boltz, 71, of Jackson Center and Russells Point, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at his home on Indian Lake.
Jim was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Springfield, a son of the late Robert “Bud” and Ida Carpenter Boltz. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Jon.
On April 26, 1997, he married Janet Shady in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and she survives. He is also survived by four children; Mike (Kathy) Boltz of Wapakoneta, Robert (Bobbi Jo) Boltz of Greenup, Ky., James Line of Botkins and Michele (Ben) Eichman of Monroeville, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, Andrew, Samantha, Mikaela, Tyler, Samantha, Matthew, Mikenzie, Andru, Jaden, Meghan, Drake, Dylan, Roman and Ashleigh, three great-grandchildren; Bryson, Hunter and Presley, three sisters, Jodi Hulsmeyer and Jane Banning, both of Lakeview, and Mary Snyder of Bellefontaine; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was a United States Air Force veteran who served during Vietnam. He worked at Spend-A-Day Marina and then went on to a career at Gem Sportswear retiring after 30 years. Jim was a member of Muchinippi Church, Buckeye Antique Club and Power of the Past. He enjoyed golfing, boating, woodworking and going to antique gas engine shows. Jim loved spending time with family and friends, going to church and singing.
Pastor Ed Shady begins funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 15, at Muchinippi Church, 12306 State Route 274, Lewistown. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, and at the church an hour prior to the service. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contribution may be given in his name to Logan County Weekly Religious Education Program.
