Carl S. Parson, 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born in Carter County, Ky., on March 31, 1935, a son of the late Alford and Mary Richmond Parson. He is also preceded in death by four brothers, Herman, John, Willard and Bill Parson, and four sisters, Lucille Butler, Emma Deal McGlothlin, Merle Fusie and Amelia Thomas.
On Dec. 24, 1960, he married Julia Rose Henry Parson in Lima and she preceded him in death May 17, 2010.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl worked as a professional driver for many years and was an United States Navy veteran. He was a 40-year member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bellefontaine and was very involved in the church as it was a big part of his life. He also enjoyed playing golf, and in his younger years, he loved to fly his airplane.
Pastors Daniel McCarty and Greg Haisley will officiate a funeral service at noon Tuesday, Jan. 2, in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, where friends may call for visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, West Liberty.
