Janet Louise Forster, 76, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:23 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at her residence.
She was born in Bellefontaine on Sept.16, 1941, to the late Bert Edward and Mary “Peggy” Louise Richards Knotts.
On Dec. 3, 1998, she married Herbert F. Forster Jr. and he preceded her in death March 26, 2010. She is also preceded in death by her godparents, Ruskin and Betty Tansel and Alvin and Mary Moore, and her stepfather, Charlie Cozad.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Dal) McDonald of Bellefontaine; her son, Brent (Mindy) Moore of West Mansfield; Gina Winegardner of Bellefontaine who was like a daughter, a stepdaughter, Cheryl (Chris) Harman of Bellefontaine; a stepson, Steve (Bonnie) Forster, of Bellefontaine; a stepsister, Becky Cozad of California, a stepbrother, Tim (Diane) Cozad of Rockport, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; Drew and Aubrie Erwin, D.J. and Mia McDonald, Coleton and Caleb Nunn, Kinsey, Katie and Dustin Harman, Holly Reed and Tyler Forster; two great grandchildren, Mya and Grayson Reed; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was a long-time member of the First Christian Church, Bellefontaine, where she served as a deacon. She served as a volunteer for the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild since 1994. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends and loved going out with her neighbors, the Stoner Girls.
Janet had a soothing presence and a warm comforting personality and loved doing things for others.
Pastor Bob Thornton officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at the First Christian Church, 215 E. Sandusky Ave., Bellefontaine. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
