Carol Ann Jeffers, 79, beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother and dear friend to many, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Carol was born July 26, 1938, in Lakeview, to the late Albert and Irma Fick. She married the love of her life Nicholas “Nick” Jeffers on May 27, 1967, in Lakeview, and he survives in Grand Rapids.
Carol was a graduate of Lakeview High School, Stokes Local School District, where she enjoyed cheerleading. After graduation she went on to earn her cosmetology license and enjoyed doing hair for a number of years. She later owned and operated Carol’s Connette Dairy Queen along Route 24 in Grand Rapids and worked at a local greenhouse.
Along with her husband Nick, Carol is survived by her loving daughter, Terri (Jay) Lazza of Lakeview; a granddaughter, Kelli (Dennis) Stevenson of Lakeview; three great-grandchildren, Draden, Dawson and Delaney Stevenson; and sisters-in-law, Ruby Ann (William) Priest of Perrysburg and Linda (Bob) Tinnell of Bowling Green.
Carol was a person who loved living life. Even when diagnosed with cancer, she remained positive, hopeful, courageous and kept her smile through it all.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.with Elder Chuck Thomas officiating in the Wright-Hanneman Funeral Home, 24084 W. Second St., Grand Rapids. Interment immediately follows in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids, with a luncheon to follow in the First Presbyterian Church, Grand Rapids.
Memorial Contributions in Carol’s honor may be gifted to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, OH 43511.
