Ryan M. Lillard, 38, of Bellefontaine, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at his residence.
He was born July 7, 1979, to Donald E. Jr. and Deborah Elsass Lillard, who survive in Bellefontaine.
Ryan served in the United States Army from May 2005 to September 2008 as an E4 Specialist with the 25th ID Unit. He served a 15-month tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006. He was proud of his accomplishments and serving his country diligently.
Ryan enjoyed spending time with his two sons, working on cars with his brother and dad, cutting wood, watching football and baseball games and making people laugh. He was the life of every party and family get-togethers. Ryan was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Also surviving are his brother, Brad (Kathy) Lillard of Bellefontaine; his two young sons, Kaden and Deacon Lillard of Lakeview; a nephew, Caleb Lillard of Bellefontaine; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ryan was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Gerald and Joan Elsass of Cridersville; and paternal grandparents, Donald E. Lillard Sr. of Bellefontaine and Mary Joan Shoemaker of Bellefontaine.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Jennings Farley Funeral Home, 5591 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with the funeral costs.
