Gary A. Castle, 71, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, Aug.17, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 19, 1945, in Dayton to the late Dwight and Catherine Watkins Castle. On Oct. 31, 1980, he married Joanne Linkinhoker, who survives.
Gary enjoyed golfing and playing and umpiring softball. He worked at Westinghouse for 22 years. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all. He will be deeply missed.
He also is survived by a son, Daryl Castle; two stepsons, Rob Krouse and Curt (Tracey) Hostetler; a stepdaughter, Karen (Charles) Schultz; 10 grandchildren, Justin Castle, Billy Lahr, Kyla Dufrene, Austin Dufrene, Jennifer (Lawrence) Asare, Bethany (Lee) Brokaw, Rachel Hostetler, Amanda Pierce, Lucy Krouse and Kevin Krouse; great-grandchildren, Kade and Penelope; four sisters-in-law, Carol Schoff, Shirley Kiggins, Ruth (Dave) Hardman and Janie Linkinhoker; and many nieces and nephews.
He also is preceeded in death by a daughter, Brenda Castle; two sisters, Sharon Ennis and Barb Chamberlin; and a brother, Jay Hess.
A celebration of life takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at 6630 Catamaran Drive, Indian Meadows, Huntsville.
