Juanita Martin, 78, of Lakeview, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at Indian Lake Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Gallia County, a daughter of Wendell and Elizabeth Hoover, who preceded her in death, along with her sisters, Ramona Stout and Linda Hoover.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Martin of Columbus and Rhonda (Jeff) Drollinger of Lakeview; grandsons, Jordan Drollinger of Winter Haven, Fla., and Kyle Drollinger of Lakeview; and a sister, Sarah (Mike) Smith of Crown City.
A 1957 graduate of Olentangy High School, she was retired from Superior Wholesale of Lima.
She fiercely loved her family. She loved children and cared for foster children and foreign exchange students.
Juanita valued kindness, was generous, loyal and admired for her strong work ethic. “A day won’t pass without missing her.”
The family thanks the staff at Indian Lake Rehab and Kindred Hospice Care.
She requested no burial and that her body be donated to Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine. A tree will be planted at Indian Lake in her memory, with a memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
