Margaret L. “Pegg” Moffitt, 67, of Zanesfield, passed away at 4:53 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Logan County on May 18, 1947, to the late Richard Frank and Louise Burson King.
A 1965 graduate of Logan Hills High School, she worked as a legal secretary at Thompson, Dunlap & Heydinger Law Firm. She was instrumental in establishing the Tri-Valley EMS, and served as a volunteer member for more than 30 years. She was the Zanesfield Citizen of the Year in 2005 and also was a long-time serving member of the Logan County Library Board. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and quilting.
On July 30, 1966, she married Ron Moffitt in East Liberty, and he survives, along with three children, Kwyn (Jack Somerville) Moffitt of Dublin, Kara (Troy) Pack of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Kyle (Dr. Kristin) Moffitt of Woburn, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Tess Somerville, Alison Somerville, Kevin (Julie) Culp, Kayla Culp, Shawn Culp, Nathan Pack, Sarah Pack, Kaylor Moffitt and Jackson Moffitt; a brother, James (Nancy) King of Middleburg; a sister-in-law, Margaret Gerrietts of West Liberty; and a brother-in-law, Keith (Betsy) Moffitt of Delaware, Ohio.
A funeral service begins at 11 a.m. Friday, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty. Burial is in Zanesfield Cemetery, where calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
