Glen Russell Miller, 65, of Lakeview and Miramar Beach, Fla., died Friday, July 12, 2013, at his home at Indian Lake.
Glen was born in Carlisle, Pa., on Oct. 15, 1947, to the late Wilbur G. and O. Faye Kraft Miller. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler.
On Nov. 29, 1991, he married the former Patricia Rose Nartker in Sieverville, Tenn., and she survives, along with three children, Ty R. Miller of Dublin and Shawn Schuler and Lorie Schuler, both of Springfield; three grandchildren, Valerie, Kyle and Zoe’, and a brother, Ralph H. (Karen) Miller of Marysville.
A 1965 graduate of Marysville High School, Glen was a U.S. Army sergeant with Charlie Company in Vietnam, where he earned his Purple Heart. He retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio after 31 years of service.
He was a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge 1533, Indian Lake Eagles Aerie 3615, American Legion Post 362 and BPOElks Lodge 51, both of Springfield, VFW Post 3320 of Marysville and AMVETS Post 29, of Miramar Beach, Fla.
He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, golfing, and reading history and biographies.
Visitation is two hours prior to a celebration of life at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and United Cerebral Palsy.
