Alexander “Sandy” Hunter Hynds, 72, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, in Noblesville, Ind.
He was born in Beaverdale, Pa., on July 14, 1940, a son of the late John and Margaret Allen Hunter Hynds. He also was preceded in death by brothers, John (Ann White) Hynds and William Hunter Hynds; and sisters, Anna Mae (Edward) Benko and Margaret Jean (Julius) Gmeiner.
Alexander is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda May Clarry Hynds; children, DiAnna (Rodney Bales) Hynds, John Hynds, Christina (Shawn) Wenstrom and Brian Hynds; granddaughter, Sebring Hynds; sister-in-law, Lena Tinerralo Hynds; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Alex was a registered engineer with the Ohio Department of Transportation for 31 years, the city of Riverside for five years and a public works superintendent with city of Huber Heights for three years.
Memorial services are at 4 p.m. Saturday at Flanner and Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, Ind., with visitation two hours prior. Inurnment is in Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Network North Cancer Center or Aseracare Hospice.
