David Victor Allison, 91, of DeGraff, died at 5:55 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Kobacker House in Columbus.
He was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Cleveland, and was raised by Earl and Ertha Allison of DeGraff.
On Sept. 7, 1944, he married Dorothy F. Cummins in DeGraff and she survives. He is also survived by a son, Michael R. (Marie) Allison of Blue Lake; two daughters, Joyce A. (James) Kauffman of Urbana and Aleta J. (Neil) Cotter of Georgetown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graduate of DeGraff High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and again during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine, was Past Master of Boggs Lodge 292 F.&A.M. in DeGraff and was a life member of Miami Valley Post 652, American Legion.
He served as mayor of DeGraff from 1983 to 1987 and retired as street superintendent of DeGraff.
A graveside service begins at 11 a.m. Monday in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff, with Pastor Rob Fulton officiating.
The Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to charities of the donors’ choices.
