Eddie L. Pool, 77, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, in his son’s residence in Coldwater, Mich.
Eddie was born in Pickaway County on Sept. 6, 1935, a son of the late Faye and Lucille Lash Pool.
On May 5, 1962, he married Norah Waldron in Dearborn, Mich., and she preceded him in death April 13, 1977. He also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ryanne Pool; two brothers, Faye Pool Jr. and Bernie Pool and two sisters, Susie Hunsicker and Shirley MacDonald.
Survivors include his four children, Timothy Pool of Angola, Ind., Patrick (Amy) Pool of Coldwater, Mich., Michael (Elizabeth) Pool of Bryan and Shelley (John) Bush of Boyne City, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jim Pool, Bob (Joy) Pool and George Pool, all of Bellefontaine, and Roger (Pat) Pool of Bryan.
Eddie was the owner of Pool’s Dairy Queen from 1969 until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan.
An avid golfer, Eddie found enjoyment in spending time at the lake with his family and attending his grandchildren’s academic and athletic events.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 N. Lynn St., Bryan, where a Scripture service is at 7:45 p.m. Father Jim Halleron officiates a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 Portland St., Bryan. Interment is in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
