Roberta F. “Nan” Bowers, 95, of DeGraff, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Auglaize County on Aug. 6, 1917, a daughter of the late Lanson and Velva Jenkins Buffenbarger.
On April 21, 1936, she married Richard Bowers and he preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1968. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherill Kaeck; one son, Richard Bowers; one son-in-law, John Kaeck; and one brother, Clair Buffenbarger.
She is survived by one brother, Richard (Wilma) Buffenbarger of Waynesfield; one brother-in-law, Bill Bowers of Pasco; three grandchildren, Kimberlee (Charles) Moore, James (April) Kaeck and Mike (Kelly) Kaeck, all of DeGraff; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and 18 nieces and nephew and their families.
Mrs. Bowers retired as a seamstress from Holloway’s in Jackson Center. She was a member of the Pemberton United Methodist Church, and was active in the Unity Grange, which she joined in 1945.
Nan was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State fan.
Pastor Don Burley officiates a graveside service at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire. No public visitation prior to the graveside service is planned.
