James Cecil Newman, 92, of Quincy, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Quincy on June 24, 1920, a son of the late Marion Lewis and Clara Viola Kendall Newman.
On July 16, 1939, he married Frances Irene Smith in DeGraff and she died Jan. 30, 2009. He also was preceded in death by six brothers, Carl, Robert, Gerald, Wilbur, Junior Newman and an infant brother; and two sisters, Phyllis Smith and Lois Weber.
Survivors include a son, Michael Newman of Quincy; daughter, Bonnie L.; two grandchildren, Michael Scott Duke and Allison Duke; and two sisters, Ann (Robert) Turner and Betty Stryker, both of Quincy.
A 1938 graduate of Quincy High School, he was a machinist at Monarch Machine and Tool in Sidney.
No services are planned. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy.
