Betty L. Small, 75, of Zanesfield, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, May 29, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bellefontaine on Feb. 7, 1938, a daughter of William Edward and Julia Branham Pash. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin; and sister, Carol Spain.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Ed) Zell and Becky (Gary) Saylor; sons, Jim (Kim) Small, Don (Dianna) Small, Joe (Becky) Small and Tom (Terri) Small; sisters, Kris Steegman, Madeline Jolliff and Sue Rizor; brothers, Myrl Pash, Lindsey Pash, Earl Shisler and John Shisler; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
Mrs. Small retired from Benjamin Logan and Bellefontaine Schools transportation, and Mary Rutan Hospital Social Services. She served the Logan County Board of Elections for more than 40 years.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 599 and the Red Hat Ladies. She also served on the Friendly Senior Center Board, the Mary Rutan Credit Union Board, and received a 20-year service pin from the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild.
Mrs. Small loved being with her children and grandchildren, participating in school and sport activities.
Pastor Chuck Temple officiates a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Vineyard Christian Church, 624 Township Road 55, Bellefontaine. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Jim in the Zanesfield Cemetery.
