William Ernest “Ernie” Leib, 95, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, at Logan Acres Care Center.
He was born in Bellefontaine on Nov. 14, 1917, to the late William Daniel and Edna Mae Garber Leib. He also was preceded in death by his siblings, Phillip Leib in 2009, Earl Leib in 1991, and Anna Margaret Leib in 2003.
Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Doris Leib of West Liberty, Joan (Steve) Skidmore of Blanchester, Jean Leib of Washington, Melvin (Linda) Leib of St. Louis, Mo., William (Suzanne) Leib of Bainbridge and Robert (Dawnnetta) Leib.
A Logan County farmer and a 1936 graduate of Monroe High School, he was a member of the West Liberty United Church of Christ for more than 80 years. He served 15 years as a trustee for the church and 30 years as class secretary.
He cared for his parents and sister for many, many years.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Eichholtz Daring and Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty. The Rev. Paul Forrey officiates a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
