Loris Lee Henry, 79, of Belle Center, passed away Thursday morning, March 21, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born in Auglaize County on June 6, 1933, to the late Robert and Mary Helmlinger Prieser. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Vergara, and a granddaughter.
Loris married Edison R. Henry on April 4, 1953, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and he survives in Belle Center, along with children, Theodore (Ruth) Henry of Wapakoneta, Mary (Rick) Ransbottom of Bellefontaine, Judy (William) Harshbarger of Wapakoneta, LCDR Edison L. (Cheri) Henry of San Diego, Joseph “Joey” (Melody) Henry of Urbana and Amy Henry of Belle Center; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Col. Dale (Barbara) Prieser of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Miriam (John) Phillips of Wapakoneta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loris was a homemaker and member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church, where she served as a delegate to the annual conference for 12 years. She and her husband were original members of the BMRT and she was a former Cub Scout leader.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center. The Rev. Kevin Smith officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at the Belle Center United Methodist Church. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
