Gordon always enjoyed his work and was very proud of finding and recording many survey cornerstones. Uncovering a stone was the highlight of his day — and on these occasions would place a container with his business card and a few coins in the hole, prior to covering it. He estimated that he had located several hundred survey cornerstones during his working years.
Pastor Tony Richmond officiates rites at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial with full graveside military honors is in Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
