Roberta F. Bayer Barnes, 84, of Russells Point, passed away early Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, 2013, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
Roberta was born in Bellefontaine on Oct. 18, 1928, to the late Leroy and Donnetta Cronkleton Kennedy.
She was married to Richard Bayer, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Tony (Jane) Fry of Bellefontaine; a grandson, Dan Fry of Bellefontaine; and two sisters, Cora Litchenburger of Dan Diego, Calif., and Virginia (Marvin) Jackson of Overton, Nev.
A 1946 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Roberta worked 25 years at Bulldog ITE, then later at Holloway Sportswear in Jackson Center and Gems Sportswear in Russells Point, before retiring.
She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and knitting. She loved animals, especially her poodles.
The Rev. Floyd Lundy conducts a funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with visitation two hours prior. Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
