Herbert ‘Bud’ Hooker

Herbert “Bud” Hooker, 78, of Russells Point, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System, under hospice care.

He was born in Cleveland on Nov. 2, 1934, a son of the late Rose and Herbert Hooker.

Bud moved to Strongsville as a young boy and graduated in the Class of 1953.

In 1955, he met and married the former Jean Osborne, who preceded him in death.

Bud is survived by their six children, Terry (David) Kaminski, Becky (Lee Roy) Clem, Michael (Diana) Hooker, Tracy (Eric) Braun, Herbert (Tammy) Hooker and Brenda (Scott Reier); 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Arlene and Bonnie.

In 1974, the family moved to Indian Lake, where he continued his heating/cooling profession and volunteered for Friends Serving Friends.

After retirement, he took up woodworking which brought him great fulfillment for the rest of his life.

Memorial contributions may be made to local hospice programs and AMVETS.

The family hosts an open house from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Kaminski home, 4773 Forest Grove, Brunswick 44212.
