Darrel E. “Bug” Stevens, 53, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Heartland of Urbana.
He was born in Bellefontaine on Dec. 12, 1959, to the late Gary E. and Ruth A. Campbell. He also was preceded in death by grandparents, Virgil and Alice Stevens and Gale Olive Smith.
Survivors include his life partner of 18 years, Louann Wiley; children, twins Jaime Marie Cummings-Hill and Jeremy D. Cummings, and Kris J. DeLong; grandchildren, Ashley Hill, Jessica Hill and Elysia Rae Cummings; sisters, Chris (Ron) Taylor of Deer Park, Texas, Toni (life mate Phil Miller) Schorr of Belle Center and Faith Campbell of Columbus.
He graduated in 1978 from Bellefontaine High School and the Ohio Hi-Point Joint Vocational School.
Per his wishes, his body was donated to Wright State University. Hospice Chaplain Victor Brady officiates a memorial service at 1 p.m. Monday at Heartland of Urbana.
The family thanks Hospice of Heartland, from the bottom of their hearts, for making Darrel’s passage from this life to the next as peaceful as possible. And many thanks to Pastor Bart Zirkle for being there when he was needed.
