Iris M. Angle, 90, of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2012, at Green Hills Care Center.
She was born in Marion on Nov. 22, 1922, to the late Fred and Mary Atha Everly. Her mother died when she was four and she was adopted by the late Elza and Matilda Wooley Mouser of West Liberty when she was almost nine.
On June 10, 1941, she married Roy L. Angle in Springfield and he preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2008. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Sullivan; brother, Kenneth Welty; and two grandchildren, Suzanne Lynn Angle and Jonathan Brian Angle.
Iris is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lee (Richard) Neer of Sidney and Linda Kay “Lynn” (Gary) McLaughlin of Bellefontaine; two sons, David Roy (Mikell “Mickey”) Angle of Hastings, Mich., and Michael James (Nancy) Angle of Bellefontaine; 11 grandchildren, Andy Barger, Susan Yee, Mark Barger, Teresa (David) Linville, Jennifer Tillman, Nick (Mindy) Tillman, Stacy (Greg) Penhorwood, Shelly (Jon) Hart, Patrick (Tara) Angle, Bart Angle and Brad Angle; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A 1940 graduate of West Liberty High School, she was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine, where she founded the Warm Clothes for Kids program. She also was a member of the Martha Circle, the Garden Club and Pleasant Hill Club.
Pastor Ed Beale and Aaron Francis officiate a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine, where visitation is one hour prior. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
