Ermalene M. Laird

Ermalene M. Laird, 88, of DeGraff, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.

She was born in Pullman, W.Va., on Feb. 23, 1924, a daughter of the late Charles Boyd and Hattie L. Meeks Wright.

On Sept. 30, 1956, she married Robert Francis Laird and he preceded her in death Nov. 11, 2005. She also was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Boyd Wright, and a sister, Geraldine Bonnell.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (Ray Quay) Laird of Huntsville, and three grandsons.

A homemaker, she was also a cosmetologist and licensed medical assistant.

An active member of the Order of Eastern Star in Belpre, she was an excellent cook, loved all animals and was a kind-hearted person who was always willing to help others.

Per her request, her body was cremated and services are in Parkersburg, W.Va., at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society Serving Logan County.
