Donna Ruth Ferrell, 86, of Marysville, formerly of the West Mansfield-York Center area, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at The Gables at Green Pastures, Marysville, with her children at her side.
She was born at the family home near West Mansfield on Sept. 29, 1926, to the late Paul and Cleo Skidmore Tallman.
On Dec. 22, 1946, she married Herbert Glen Ferrell and he preceded her in death Nov. 28, 2000. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Harland Tallman.
Survivors include her children, Jim Ferrell of Columbus, Barb (Don) Eastman of Raymond, Bonnie (Bob) Haughn of Richwood, Jeff (Heather) Ferrell of Prospect and Bev (Dave) Deck of Westerville; 12 grandchildren, Dawn Eastman, Amy Wilson, Kim (Kirby) Day, Matt (Amy) Eastman, Brad and Brian Haughn, Philip Ferrell, Abbey, Logan and Lucas Ferrell, and Ashley and Tyler Deck; 12 great-grandchildren, Ridge and Beau Caldwell, Blaine, Dillon and Carlie Wilson, Haylee, Taylor and Harley Day and Brayden, Carson, Deegan and Emmy Eastman; a sister, Vera Blackburn of West Liberty; sister-in-law, Phyllis Ferrell of Marysville; brother-in-law, Don (Janie) Ferrell of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
A loving, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was employed with Siemens in Bellefontaine for more than 23 years.
Donna graduated from York Center High School in 1944. She enjoyed traveling and square dancing and especially enjoyed time spent with her family.
The Rev. Steve Whitaker officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial is at York Cemetery, York Center, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
