Augusta Marie Butterfield, 92, of Lakeview, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Hamilton on Dec. 5, 1919, a daughter of the late John and Doris Reeves.
On Oct. 29, 1937, she married Marvin Eugene “Gene” Butterfield in Hamilton and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2011. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, James Butterfield.
Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Smith of Russells Point and Sue Kirby of Bellefontaine; son, Jim Butterfield of Lakeview; grandchildren, Cheryl Schoepfle, Carol (Doug) Fleischmann, Cathy Schoepfle, Elisabeth (Bill) Coyer, Joe (Kim) Kirby, Jeff (Jennifer) Kirby, Colleen (John) Gerke and Jacob O. (Amy) Butterfield; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, she worked for four years in the cafeteria of Indian Lake High School.
She was a member of the Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, Bellefontaine O.E.S and was a former member of Indian Lake O.E.S. She also was a mother adviser to Rainbow Girls and enjoyed golfing, playing cards and was an avid Cincinnati Reds and OSU fan.
Her love of Coca-Cola earned her the name of “The Coke Lady” at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She loved spending winters in Florida with her husband and collecting shells.
Pastor Karen Blackburn conducts a funeral at noon Monday at the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home, Lakeview, where calling is two hours prior. Burial is in Lima Memorial Park Cemetery.
