Jean Roach, 91, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Huntsville on Oct. 23, 1920, to the late Grant L. and Harva Gartner McCormick.
On Oct. 26, 1945, she married Wallace E. Roach in Huntsville and he preceded her in death Sept. 21, 2005. She also was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Robert McCormick.
Surviving are her children, Robert Roach and Shirley Brunke, both of Bellefontaine; a sister, Barbara Springer of Bellefontaine; and three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
During the war, she worked for the Highway Department in Columbus and retired in 1983 from the Logan County Engineer’s office, where she was an office clerk.
A 1938 Huntsville High School graduate, she was a member of the Huntsville United Presbyterian Church.
The Revs. Ben Beres and Russell D. Williams officiated a private funeral today, with burial in Huntsville Cemetery.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the charities of the donors’ choices.
