Jill Elaine Saunders, 49, of Dayton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Sept. 2, 1963, in Dayton, a daughter of Robert H. Sr. and Phyllis Saunders, who survive, along with brothers, Robert H. Jr. (Angela) Saunders and Gene (Cindi) Saunders; sisters, Jane (Tim) Jernee and Cheryl (Cory) Craft; nieces and nephews, Tony (Rianna) Blosser, Randi and Jacob Bickham, Marilee Kelhoffer, Dawn McNeese, Ben and Nathan Saunders, and Caleigh and Casey Craft; great-nieces and nephews, Jozey, Errol, Avery and Layla Kelhoffer, Taylor Bickham, Owen, Kale and Zane McNeese, Peyton Saunders, Brian, Colton, Rayna and Leland Blosser; special friend, Cathy Kaus; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-niece, Abigail McNeese.
Jill was a 1982 graduate of Indian Lake High School, where she excelled in softball and basketball. She graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Lima Technical College and was a detective for the city of Dayton with more than 22 years of service.
The family would like to extend a special “thanks” to all of Jill’s wonderful friends who stayed with her continually at Hospice for all of their love and support.
A funeral begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton 45420; and the ALS Association of Central and Southern Ohio, 1170 Old Henderson Road, Suite 221, Columbus 43220.
