Charles A. Wrobel, 77, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Dillonvale on April 30, 1935, to the late Victor and Pauline Figurski Wrobel. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ptacnik; and a brother, Victor Wrobel.
He is survived by his children, Stephanie Wrobel Smith of Nashville, Tenn., Charles D. Wrobel of Los Angeles and Kathleen Wilson of Belle Center; three grandchildren, Catherine, Stuart Elizabeth and Kason; siblings, Ann Hutkay of Dillonvale, Edward Wrobel of Parma, Phyllis (Frank) Santa of Dillonvale and Richard (Jeanie) Wrobel of Brainerd, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Following 21 years of service to his country, he worked at DAB, where he retired in 2001 after nearly 30 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge, Eagles and VFW.
Chuck had a passion for sports, playing golf, old cars and westerns.
His greatest love was his family and friends. His love of laughter will be missed.
Deacon Harold Dipple officiates a memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is two hours prior. The Logan County Veterans Honor Guard conducts military honors. Msgr. John Kolesar leads a memorial funeral mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale. Burial is in St. Adalbert Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society and the American Heart Association.
