On Aug. 8, 2014, Mary Eleanor Judy-Denton took a nap from which she did not awaken on this earth. She peacefully went into the arms of her Lord.
She was born in Lewistown on March 16, 1921, to Jay and Anna Renick. Mary was raised on a farm outside of Lewistown with her older sister, Dorothy, and her little brother, Jay Robert, who still resides in Lewistown with his wife, Marilyn.
Mary graduated from White Cross College in Columbus with a bachelor of science degree as a registered nurse.
On Jan. 21, 1945, she married Donald Edward Judy, a marriage that would last 63 years. Don and Mary’s greatest accomplishment and joy was their family which started with five children, Edward, Edwin, Jay, Robyn and David, and has grown to include 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Don and Mary moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., in 1955.
Mary worked as an industrial nurse for more than 25 years. She was well respected for her integrity and work ethic. Other than their family, both Don and Mary were devoted to their church. It was after the loss of Don that Mary met Theodore Edward Denton at the church and they were married. Because of failing health Mary and Ted moved to assisted living which Mary referred as her new “house.”
The most important thing anyone needs to know is that Mary lived her life with an unwavering commitment to two great loves. She loved her Lord Jesus and she loved her family.
She leaves a legacy of love. She is missed.
