Phyllis C. Stinson Peterson, 72, of Columbus, formerly of Bellefontaine and Kenton, passed away Aug. 7, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. After a courageous battle with cancer, she is now reunited with her loving husband John, who preceded her in death in 1996. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Mildred Stinson.
She is survived by her daughters, Dina L. Thompson of Monroe, Ga., and Deborah L. Peterson of Columbus; stepson David W. Peterson of New Carlisle; grandchildren, John Weston Peterson of Columbus, Alexa M. Roberts and Thomas K. Roberts, both of DeGraff, Tara L. Thompson of Monroe, Ga., and Jessica H. Peterson of Springfield; a sister, Patricia Cole of Bellefontaine; two nephews, Jeff Sherrick and Rick Sherrick; a niece, JoDe Carter; six great-nephews; and two great-nieces.
In lieu of cards and flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Mt. Carmel West Hospice.
