Emma M. Troyer, 90, of Plain City, passed away Thursday evening July 31, 2014, at the Zusman House, Columbus. Born Feb. 18, 1924, in Plain City.
Emma’s first love was God. She was thankful for her Christian heritage and upbringing. Family was important to her. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished every moment with her family while being cared for by them. She was a good homemaker who loved being in the kitchen preparing food for family and friends. Until the end, her ministry was sending cards, writing letters and praying for family and loved ones. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Sarah Miller Farmwald; her loving and devoted husband: Philip W. Troyer in 1989; a son, Carl E. Troyer in 1969; eight brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include sons, Richard (Shirley) Troyer of Bellefontaine and Jerry (Denise) Troyer of Plain City; four grandchildren, Lisa (Andy) McGill, Lance (Rebekah) Troyer, Jessica (Jerry) Yoder and Angela (Mark) Helmuth; 10 dearly loved great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Mast.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sharon Mennonite Church, 7675 Amity Pike, Plain City, where a funeral begins at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, with Pastor Walter Beachy officiating. Burial is in Sharon Mennonite Cemetery.
